Liaison interpreting is one of the way interpreters have to carry out their tasks.
Liaison interpreting involves relaying what is spoken to one, between two, or among many people (a small group). This can be done after a short speech, or consecutively, sentence-by-sentence, or as chuchotage (whispering); aside from notes taken at the time, no equipment is used.
The food and wine sectors are of paramount importance all over the world. Every country, region and area has a typical traditional food and wine heritage to share, and to do so, producers and buyers working in the HoReCa field (Hotellerie-Restaurant-Café) and communicating between them, summon and hire professional interpreters in order that their message and purpose are never lost.
During this B2B meeting, Italian producers (wineries and food producers) introduce their best products to buyers from Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The key role of the interpreter here is to be able to transmit the values that are core in this sector, highlighting the technical features of wines and food products.
